One of my all time favorite movie is Pursuit of Happyness. I was hooked instantly to the theme music and Will Smith's little speech to his son. Manner of Speech of is one the latest great find in this online world (and that five traits here ):
Smith’s speech, which it is set out below, is only 40 seconds long, but there is much than we can learn from it when it comes to public speaking.
- A simple message.
- Sincere emotion.
- Good eye contact.
- Well-timed pauses.
- A call to action.
Hey.
Don’t ever let somebody tell you,
you can’t do something.
Not even me.
All right?
You got a dream?
You gotta protect it.
People can’t do something themselves, they want to tell you you can’t do it.
You want something?
Go get it!
