What I've been reading

Cyber War: The Next Threat to National Security and What to Do About It by Richard Clarke.

  • There are no soldiers, no action, no nothing expect everything in this war is collateral damage. So our amygdala stays bland to the term cyber war explaining our inability to comprehend how vulnerable we are.
  • Yes, Clarke does go overboard at few occasions but all in all its a very important book.
  • E.O. Wilson wrote on the difference between humans and ants - "When defending the nest, the elders were among the most suicidally aggressive. They were obedient to a simple truth that separates our two species: humans send their young men to war; ants send their old ladies."  Thank God, we don't send our old ladies to fight wars. But we sure do use the same piece of software (read Windows) to defend our country which our grandmother uses too. Amen.
