Tech Fact of the Day

Ubiquitous cell phones, internet, PC, TV et al is old news here. What got my attention here in India is most people have in their homes:

• Water Purification System.
• Battery powered UPS which looks likes a DVD player.

Both are essential and life line for our survival. I was amazed to find how people seamlessly adapted to these changes and most importantaly both of them doesn't cost much (even at Indian cost of living). I saw all this in small to mid size towns and yet to see Madras since I returned here few hours ago.
