Learning to Live Alone

It goes against everything human. We are immensely social creatures. In a Darwinian sense - it had helped us evolve, adapt, survive and flourish as a species only because we are social. "Adapting" to live alone is trying to undo thousands of years of evolution in one life time. But circumstances does force one to embrace living alone. One has to learn to live alone but there is no how to live alone for dummies available (sans those zillion...).
Thousands of men and women have done so without being misanthropic. They probably survived because of their animal friends. We became what we became with dogs was probably to keep the misanthropist inside us in check while living alone. Ironically, Max made me more humanist making that balance lopsided. There would come time when living wouldn't make any sense leave alone living alone. But until he is by side, each day is an education on how to live alone in life. I got a reality check today - it's just Maximus and Me, alone for each other in this blue planet. I am gifted to have Maximus with me. We are learning to live alone with each other. Not sure how much we will succeed, there will be good days and bad days. We will keep breathing together happily one day at a time until our lungs give up. We are two different species bonded together and trying to make life happen.
