Lucille Ball on Finding Happiness

From Postconsumers:

“It’s a helluva start, being able to recognize what makes you happy.”

We couldn’t have said it better ourselves (and that’s not surprising given how wise Lucille Ball was). In order to find the satisfaction of enough, you need to find what makes you happy. However, we think that a necessary first step to finding what makes you happy is also recognizing what doesn’t make you happy. For most of us, part of that process will involve learning that the quest for more “stuff” isn’t going to make us happy. Letting go of our consumer-driven habits and learning to ignore media messages and decide for ourselves just how much is enough is a necessary first step to then being able to pause, back up and discover exactly what it is that does make us feel happy and satisfied.

As a bonus quote of the week, the amazing quote that made us start looking further into Lucille Ball and her wise words was this one:

“The secret of staying young is to live honestly, eat slowly and lie about your age.”
